Jets Delayed in 1st Half: Soar in 2nd Half

The New York Jets flew into Buffalo looking for a win against the first place division rival Buffalo Bills. The Jets began on a delayed flight that started off with a long 1st quarter drive that lasted over 10 minutes that ended in an interception thrown by quarterback Mark Sanchez.

This kind of football was played by both the Jets and the Bills throughout the 1st half, going down field and resulting in nothing. The only thing that resulted by both teams in the 1st half was a 49 yard field goal kicked by Jets kicker Nick Folk.

The 2nd half was the half that both teams finally got something going, especially the Jets. The Jets started off the 3rd quarter with another big kick, this time it was 50 yards by Nick Folk to give the Jets a 6-0 lead.

The Jets were able to get a big break when Bills running back Fred Jackson fumbled and the ball was recovered by the Jets at the Buffalo 22 yard line. The Jets were able to execute a short drive and was able to score a rushing touchdown later in the drive by running back LaDanian Tomlinson to increase the Jets lead to 13-0.

The Bills were finally able to respond with a field goal by Ryan Lindell on the following drive to decrease the Jets lead to 13-3. On the following drive Mark Sanchez was finally able to march down field to get a touchdown pass to wide receiver Santonio Holmes to increase the Jets lead to 20-3.

The Jets were able to get another drive early in the 4th quarter to pretty much put the game out of reach, resulting in a 1 yard rushing touchdown by fullback John Connor to expand the lead to 27-3.

Midway through the 4th quarter, the Bills made one last effort to try to come back in the game, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a touchdown to wide receiver David Nelson followed by a two point conversion to cut the lead to 27-11, but this would be the last attempt the Buffalo Bills would make at a comeback.

The Jets are now on a 3 game win streak and improved their record to 5-3 and will face another division foe next Sunday night as they play the New England Patriots at home in a matchup of two teams tied for first place in the AFC East.
